What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It allows individuals to express themselves through various art forms like painting, drawing, or sculpting, which can help them explore their feelings, resolve emotional conflicts, and manage behaviours. It’s a therapeutic technique that can be beneficial for individuals of all ages dealing with various challenges or seeking personal growth. Art Therapists utilise visual arts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, sand, and play, to offer therapeutic interventions for various purposes such as early intervention, developmental disorders, mental health diagnosis, and overall well-being. The focus is on utilising art to help individuals express emotions and facilitate healing.
